Creatures of Sonaria: My Attempt at Taming That Went Wrong

    Creatures of Sonaria

Okay, so let me paint you a picture. I’m sitting there, thinking, “This game looks chill. I can totally tame some cool creatures, wander around, and live my best life in a world full of mythical beasts.” Yeah, I definitely underestimated Creatures of Sonaria. Spoiler alert: it didn’t go as smoothly as I thought. But hey, that’s the story of my life—misadventures galore.

I thought I’d mastered taming in every game, from Pokémon to Dragon Age, but Creatures of Sonaria threw me a curveball I didn’t even see coming. Let me take you through my journey—emphasis on the “mis” part of “misadventure.”

What Even Is Creatures Of Sonaria?

First, a quick intro to the world I jumped into: Creatures of Sonaria is this massive, open-world game where you roam around trying to tame a bunch of wild creatures. But, like, not the “catch a cute bunny and call it a day” kind of creatures. No, we’re talking huge beasts with their own quirks, behaviors, and (here’s the kicker) tempers. Some are chill, some are total divas. Some are herbivores, others… not so much. You can raise them, interact with them, and—yeah—tame them, if you’re lucky. But my attempts at doing that? Oh man. Hilarious disaster.

Anyway, here’s the kicker: right off the bat, I was so confident. I mean, how hard could it be, right? Just tame a few creatures, explore the world, and be a badass animal handler. But nope. The first creature I tried to tame? Absolute chaos.

The Chase: Taming My First Creature—A Wild Veliks

So, I see it—a Veliks. This vibrant creature with crazy long legs and feathers that looked like they were plucked straight out of a fantasy novel. I thought, “Hey, this is a simple one. No big deal.” Cue me charging in like a hero in a Disney movie, thinking it’s gonna let me pet it. Spoiler: it did not.

The Veliks took one look at me, did a little hop, and booked it into the forest. I’m literally running behind this thing, dodging trees, tripping over rocks, and just trying to keep up. To be honest, I wasn’t even sure if I was chasing a creature or auditioning for a scene in Fast & Furious. Talk about a workout.

Fast-forward past three failed attempts, I realized I was doing everything wrong. My strategy? Pure chaos. Creatures of Sonaria isn’t about running at creatures like a toddler in a candy store. No, you have to plan. Slowly approach. Understand the creature. Observe. Maybe whisper a little prayer. But me? I just tried to sprint after it like a madwoman, which, as you might guess, wasn’t exactly the winning strategy.

    Key Takeaways: Slow Your Roll

    • Observe the creature’s behavior: Okay, so this is basic, right? But I learned the hard way. Some creatures bolt as soon as they see you move. Veliks? They’re quick.
    • Patience is key: There’s no “gotta catch ’em all” frenzy here. You gotta chill and wait for the right moment. Like trying to get a cat to trust you… but with way more running involved.
    • Stealth: I wish someone had handed me a stealth manual. Stealthy approach = tamed creature.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity of running in circles, I got it. My first successful tame. I was practically doing a victory dance (in my head, of course). I named it Sir Fluffington because why not? It felt fitting. But this happiness didn’t last long—oh, no. There were much bigger, scarier creatures in store.

The Nightmare: Taming A Ferox (Or Getting Wrecked)

After my Veliks success, I started thinking, “I’m ready. I can totally tame a carnivore.” So, I spotted this massive Ferox—a ferocious, clawed beast, with eyes that could probably melt you with a single glance. Honestly, I have no idea what went through my mind. It’s like when you see a big, scary rollercoaster and think, “Yeah, I got this,” only to get off with your hair all messed up and a headache from the screams. That was me with the Ferox.

I tried everything: circling it, sneaking up behind it, even using whatever “tools” I thought would help. Long story short: I did not survive. The Ferox took one look at me and charged like a bull at a rodeo. Before I even realized what happened, I was knocked out cold. It wasn’t even a fair fight.

I respawned, only to find out that my Veliks was now gone too. Apparently, the chaos had scared it off. It was like losing a pet after an accident. I swear, this game has a way of making you feel like a failure in the best way possible.

Lesson Learned: Maybe Don’T Tame The Big Ones Right Away?

    • Respect the dangerous creatures: Not every beast is friendly, and some—Ferox, I’m looking at you—will make sure you never forget your place.
    • Know your limits: I learned that taming a carnivore without a strategy is like going to the beach and expecting not to get sunburned. It’s gonna happen.
    • Don’t rush into danger: As much as I wanted to be the hero, taming a Ferox wasn’t part of my beginner’s game plan. I should’ve known better.

Anyway, after the Ferox fiasco, I figured I’d take a break and try to tame something a little more manageable. Like a harmless herbivore. Easier said than done.

Terlon: Not As Chill As I Thought

Next, I came across a Terlon, a giant creature with a long neck. It looked peaceful enough, and I thought, “Hey, if I can’t tame the ferocious beasts, I’ll just try to go for something chill.” Yeah, right.

So, I start approaching it. And out of nowhere—boom—another player shows up, completely messing with my vibe. I’m trying to sneak up on the Terlon, and this player, like some sort of online chaos agent, starts attacking the poor creature. The Terlon freaks out, runs off into the wild, and I’m left standing there, feeling like a fool. I tried chasing both the player and the Terlon, but no luck. It’s like trying to catch a mouse that’s already gone into the walls.

Big Lesson: Other Players Are Wild Cards

    • Player interference: You think you’re in control, and then some random person just decides to mess with your plan. It’s like trying to do yoga in a crowded park.
    • Mind your business: Other players aren’t always friendly. Sometimes they’ll mess with your creatures, and sometimes—let’s be real—they’ll just make you look like an amateur.

Reflections: So, What Did I Learn?

Looking back, I can honestly say that my attempt at taming in Creatures of Sonaria was a rollercoaster of highs, lows, and a whole lotta faceplanting. But here’s the thing: that’s what made it fun. Despite my many, many failures, the world of Creatures of Sonaria is captivating. It’s not just about taming creatures, it’s about learning and adapting.

Yeah, I’ll admit it: I was a little overconfident. I thought I could waltz in and tame the fiercest creatures like it was no big deal. Turns out, it was a huge deal. But each failure taught me something new. I got better, slower, and smarter with every attempt. And maybe next time, I’ll tame that Ferox… Or maybe I’ll just leave it to the pros. Who knows?

The point is, Creatures of Sonaria isn’t about being perfect. It’s about embracing the wild ride—creature chaos and all. And trust me, that’s what makes the game so damn fun.
